Tsunami Awareness Night

The Manly State Emergency Service (SES) will host a Tsunami Awareness Night for the local community on the 19th May 2010.
SES Deputy Region Controller, Mark Darling will present details on the cause and effects of a Tsunami on the Manly local area, providing information on the current pilot study for Manly beach and tsunami risk. Anyone with a general interest or a specific concern in understanding our ocean is welcome to attend. There will be plenty of time for questions after the presentation.
The awareness night will be held at the Star of the Sea Theatre at Stella Maris College, on the corner of Iluka Avenue and Collingwood Street, Manly (map). The presentation will commence at 7:00pm, with doors open at 6:30pm.
Photo and interview opportunities are available at the conclusion of the presentation, or can be arranged prior with the unit controller Mark Simpson or Media Officer Sarah Hesse.
There will be a large representation of Manly SES volunteers should anyone wish to know more about the organization.
